Recovery Walk Registration

About the Walk

The walk will run from 6am to 6pm, beginning at Monaco Street in Surfers Paradise and
continuing down the path along beautiful beach front towards Currumbin and then
back again. You will pass well known Gold Coast beaches such as Broadbeach and
Mermaid Beach, raising awareness for Transformations as people pass you by. As
you make your way to Currumbin you will pass several check points offering
water, sunscreen, directions and encouragement from our walk volunteers. Upon
crossing the finish line back at Transformations, you will be celebrated and
congratulated by our walk volunteers for the amazing impact you have just had
in partnering with Transformations to see more lives rescued from addiction. Registered
walkers will be given a personal story from a current Transformations resident
to reflect upon whilst walking and will have an opportunity to leave a written
message of hope and encouragement at the end of the walk for that individual.

The recovery walk will open at 6am and close
at 6pm. Pizza will be available for registered walkers from 6pm at
Transformations Surfers Paradise. Walkers are welcome to complete the walk at
any time during these hours and are also welcome to choose how far they would
like to walk. The distance from Surfers Paradise to Currumbin is approximately
20km and will take 4 hours. This means if you intend to complete the entire
walk from Surfers Paradise to Currumbin and back again, you will be walking for
8 hours completing 40km. We would encourage you to join with friends and commit
to walking together during the day. If you would like to walk with one of our
Recovery Walk leaders you can do so by selecting this on your registration
form.

Take time to reflect on the lives of others not as fortunate as you. Transformations charity walk, raising funds and awareness

How does the walk raise funds?

Once you have registered for the recovery walk we will supply you with a
sponsorship form so that you can obtain sponsorship for the amount of
kilometers you walk on the day. The more sponsors you have and the more
kilometers you walk, the more money will be raised for the Transformations
program. We would encourage you to find a minimum of 10 sponsors that will
sponsor you a minimum of $2 per kilometre. All sponsorship donations are tax
deductible. It’s important to have your sponsors committed before the day of
the walk. We will be giving a special prize to the registered walker that has
the most sponsorship. Our goal is to raise $20,000 from this walk. Your amazing
efforts will help us reach this goal!
